iTunes is the free music player made by Apple, the company that makes the iPod and Apple Computers. There is a Windows version of iTunes that will workd with your Windows formatted iPod. The Windows version of iTunes works almost identically to the Mac version.
Features available in iTunes are that it it allows you to import your CDs into digital files, categorize your music, and organize it into playlists. iTunes can even playback most of your videos so it can be used to organize your digital movies as well.
In addition to the jukebox capabilities of iTunes, Apple also provides easy access to the iTunes Store. "Shop the iTunes Store for music, movies, TV shows, iPod games, audiobooks, free podcasts, and more." Individual songs cost as low as 99¢ and whole albums for a much as $9.99.
Since the same company makes both the world's leading portable music players, iPod, and the best software for playing back digital music & videos purchased on the iTunes Store, it is a breeze to Sync your iPod to all the music and vidoes in iTunes
